CSCI Transfer Credit Approval Requests

All credit transfer approval requests for CSCI courses will be handled electronically. Please fill out the online form to submit your CSCI transfer credit approval request. This should be completed prior to registering for the course to ensure the course equivalency is appropriately assigned.

You do not need to fill out the Undergraduate Transfer Credit Approval Form (TCAF). The CS Dept will e-mail you the completed and signed TCAF using the information you provided via the online form above. Once you receive the signed TCAF, submit the form along with the syllabus to your Advising office for processing.

FAQs

1. When planning to take classes outside of GW for credit transfer, please consider the list of previously approved courses and associated institutions. Use the list as a guide when exploring classes to take outside of GW. Even if a course is listed, transfer credit approval is not guaranteed- must submit the TCAF request.
2. The CS Dept will only evaluate CSCI course transfers. For other courses (e.g. MATH, STATS, etc.) please consult the relevant department for transfer information.
3. Be sure to include a copy of the course syllabus for the transfer course you wish to take. Course descriptions are not acceptable for approval.
4. Allow a minimum of 5-7 business days for processing. Note that transfer credit requests are only reviewed during the fall and spring semesters. Submissions made during winter and summer breaks may not be reviewed on a timely basis.
5. It is highly recommended you gain approval for the course equivalency before you enroll in a course. Failure to do so can result in a course not applying to the needed degree requirements.
6. The CS Dept will contact you by e-mail if more information is needed regarding your transfer credit request. Incomplete submissions will delay processing time.
