Professor of the Practice Faculty Opening in Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, is looking for passionate educators and practitioners to join us as a Professor of the Practice. This non-tenure-track position is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on your experience, with a start date as early as Fall 2025.

Our department is a dynamic and diverse community of faculty, students, and staff. We’re based in a state-of-the-art building designed to spark collaboration across disciplines, and we’re proud to be part of a school with one of the highest percentages of women engineering students in the country.

At GW, we value and actively seek diversity in all its forms. We strongly encourage applications from women, members of underrepresented groups, veterans, and individuals with disabilities—anyone who can help us broaden our perspectives and make a difference in the lives of our students.

Located in the heart of Washington, DC, GW offers unparalleled opportunities to connect with federal agencies, research labs, and one of the largest hubs of tech companies in the nation. It’s an inspiring place to teach, mentor, and make an impact.

If you’re passionate about teaching, curriculum development, and shaping the next generation of computer scientists, we’d love to hear from you.
